Parent Forum

Parent to Parent has established a parents' forum in Angus, Dundee, Perth & Kinross and West Lothian. Meetings are held monthly and are used to pass information between the Local Authority and parents. In order to be representative parent support groups from across the areas were invited to nominate a parent to represent their group at the forum and to take responsibility for bringing the views and comments from their group to the meetings. They also feed back from the forum to their group. Some forum members are not part of a formal group but are parents of children with additional needs and have contact with other parents who they represent at the meetings. Each forum aims to represent different disabilities as well as different areas within the Local Authorities.

In Angus the Parents' Forum is run jointly with the Princess Royal Trust for Carers.
