CD-ROMs
Parent to Parent has made three CD-ROMs for parents of children with Autism, Dyslexia and Developmental Co-ordination Disorder. They give an overview of the condition, answer questions about school and the transition stages, look at social provision and ways to help the child. A team of professionals from Health, Education and Social Work explain what their services provide and guide parents through the process from the early years to adult life.
Another CD-ROM on peer support aims to improve the understanding of children in mainstream schools and clubs about children with additional needs and includes interviews with teachers, Educational Psychologists, parents, children and young adults with additional needs.
The CD-ROMs were produced with the financial support of the Scottish Executive Innovations Grants Scheme and are available to parents and professionals free of charge from:
